The Facilities Technician II will be responsible for maintaining essential building systems that support scientific research operations, including installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of various systems in site buildings.

Responsibilities

Respond promptly to all facility tickets, facilitating timely resolution
Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other related systems in all site buildings
Regularly inspect, operate, and maintain the site's HVAC systems to ensure compliance with local and federal regulations for animal facilities
Assist in renovations of existing facilities and other projects
Maintain comprehensive repair records and other paperwork in compliance with GMP/GLP, AAALAC, and USDA standards
Ensure proper usage, maintenance, and storage of facilities tools and supplies
May assist in the development of the departmental budget
Perform any other related duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

High school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.)
3-5 years of related experience in general building maintenance with a mechanical and construction background
Certification/Licensure: Current, valid motor vehicle operator's license required

Preferred

Certification in a relevant trade (e.g., HVAC, electrical, or plumbing) preferred
