Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Manager NICU

Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Nurse Manager for a top healthcare client in Austin, TX. This leadership role oversees daily operations of a high-acuity Level III NICU, ensuring exceptional standards of neonatal care and fostering a culture of clinical excellence and teamwork.

Logistics & Supply Chain

Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, staffing, and clinical performance of the 97-bed Level III NICU
Ensure delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care through adherence to evidence-based standards
Supervise and mentor nursing staff, fostering professional development and accountability
Collaborate with neonatologists, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
Manage departmental budgets, equipment maintenance, and resource allocation
Support compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Develop and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and operational efficiency
Identify training needs and promote continuous staff education and clinical competency

Qualification

Bachelor of Science in NursingRegistered Nurse licenseNeonatal critical careBasic Life Support certificationLeadership experienceOperational management skillsEvidence-based practice knowledgeTeam-building skillsAnalytical abilitiesACLS certificationCommunication skills

Required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Minimum of 3–5 years of healthcare experience
Minimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience required
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact State license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Specialty certification (e.g., RNC-NIC or equivalent) required within 6 months of hire
Strong leadership and operational management skills
Expert knowledge of neonatal critical care and evidence-based practice
Excellent communication, team-building, and analytical abilities
