Senior LevelUnited Pharma is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to join and support an established Automation team. This hands-on role provides technical leadership across multiple packaging operations, ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient automation performance within a GMP-regulated environment.

Responsibilities
Provide hands-on automation support across 14 on-site packaging lines, ensuring safe, reliable, and GMP-compliant operation
Troubleshoot, maintain, and resolve PLC, HMI, and controls-related issues supporting packaging equipment
Implement and support recipe changes, control logic updates, and HMI modifications driven by manufacturing needs
Work directly on the packaging floor to diagnose issues, implement corrective actions, and minimize downtime
Collaborate closely with Automation, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to deliver timely technical solutions
Participate in a rotating shift schedule with a team of five engineers to ensure continuous coverage
Support GMP documentation, change control, and deviation investigations related to automation systems
Qualification
Required
Extensive hands-on experience with Wonderware (AVEVA) and GE iFIX HMI/SCADA platforms
Strong experience with Rockwell Automation platforms, including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and FactoryTalk
Proven background supporting pharmaceutical or regulated packaging operations
Deep understanding of PLC programming, HMI development, and recipe-based control systems
Comfortable working hands-on in a production environment
Solid experience operating within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments
