Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth background research on parties, witnesses, and corporate entities using public records, social media, and proprietary databases (Westlaw/Lexis)
Organize and categorize massive sets of documents; manage the e-discovery process, including document tagging, bates stamping, and privilege logs
Specifically for malpractice cases, handle the collection, indexing, and summarization of professional records, correspondence, and billing audits
Prepare initial drafts of discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, and routine motions. Handle electronic filing (CM/ECF) in state and federal courts
Coordinate exhibits, prepare trial binders, and assist with witness preparation and deposition logistics
Maintain detailed case calendars and ensure all statutory and court-ordered deadlines are met
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of experience in commercial litigation or professional liability/malpractice defense/plaintiff work
Proficiency in E-Discovery software (Relativity, Everlaw, or similar) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills for document tracking
Ability to synthesize complex information from diverse sources into concise memos
Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or a Bachelor's degree in a related field
