Senior Molding Engineer
Argon Medical Devices is a global manufacturer of specialty medical products, headquartered in Plano, Texas. The Senior Molding Engineer will be responsible for leading engineering activities related to injection molding processes, focusing on continuous improvement, optimization, and validation of materials and molds.

Responsibilities
Lead all engineering activities related to Argon’s injection molding process
Establish a robust process window for all injection molded components using Scientific Molding techniques along with Design for Experiments (DOE’s)
Troubleshoot molding / manufacturing processes to mitigate production defects
Champion process improvement/optimization projects
Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings
Perform process and mold qualifications, validations etc
Evaluate and select various engineered materials, execute material consolidation projects
Implement safety, productivity, and yield improvements
Develop and maintain process documentation
Participate in projects related to New Product Introduction
Develop process for SMED, design, execute and train set-up operators
Use structured project management process to execute projects on time
Lead complex projects and maintain project timeline and budget
Liaison between Molding, Tooling, R&D and Quality Engineering teams
Analysis of new tools design and make recommendations
Provide support with QA for root cause investigations for NCR’s and customer complaints
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering
At least 5 years injection molding experience in medical device industry or clean room molding
Minimum 4 years of process engineering experience
Strong knowledge and on-hand skills of Scientific Molding
Must have excellent knowledge of injection molding presses (hydraulic and electric), molds, mold design and other related processing equipment such as hoppers/loaders, blenders, dryers, sprue pickers, hot runner systems etc
Experience working with common molding grade plastics such as Polypropylene, Polycarbonate, ABS, Nylon etc. is required
Validation of presses and molds (IQ/OQ/PQ) required
Preferred
Master Molder certification is a plus (RJG - Fimmtech)
Experience in Extrusion of PVC, HDPE and PU is a big plus
