Responsibilities
Prepares computer-generated existing utility CAD models and Engineering plan sets, according to established agency standards and procedures. These models will be shown in the plan sheets that are created from owner record research drawing data and from field located and surveyed utility information using Microstation and Open Roads Designer
Creation of plan sheets that have match lines that connect an entire project together
Works directly with Project Manager/CAD Manager
Basic Understanding of survey points and data
Comprehending owner utility record research plans
Using Google Earth to locate field utility above ground features to assist in verification of record research and surveyed utility data
Revises utility CAD models based on Project Managers marked up instructions
Understands and follows the agency’s CAD standards to create a plan set that meets their approval
Well organized and with outstanding work ethic, works well with a dynamic and highly efficient team
Maintains schedules and progress reports for self-performed work to Project Manager
Qualification
Required
Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience (MicroStation, Open Roads Designer)
All activities will be under the direct supervision of a Project Manager/CAD Manager utilizing MicroStation, and or Open Roads Designer
2 – 5 years' experience with the listed software packages is preferred, but not necessary for an individual able to learn on the job in a progressive atmosphere
DOT/Agency and/or Transportation Engineering experience is a plus
