Procurement Project Lead

Responsibilities

Develop and implement comprehensive Project Procurement Plans; actively participate in project planning, kickoff meetings, and internal design reviews
Ensure timely material delivery and achieve cost savings consistent with project budget objectives
Serve as a technical liaison among suppliers, design engineers, and supply chain teams; communicate constraints effectively and advocate the use of standardized parts across projects
Establish and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, clients, and internal teams; oversee supplier performance to support risk management and supplier development activities
Fulfil material requirements by securing optimal pricing, availability, and appropriate shipping methods; address issues related to revisions, process deviations, and material limitations
Champion continuous improvement initiatives within procurement processes; identify operational gaps and lead efforts to enhance overall efficiency
Develop, manage, and analyze reporting systems to monitor procurement performance and compliance
Provide strategic guidance to project teams concerning scope, scheduling, and budgetary expectations, while encouraging cross-functional collaboration
Ensure adherence to procurement standards, ethical practices, and the ATS Code of Business Conduct, including compliance with relevant health and safety regulations

Required

A post-secondary degree in Business, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent. In lieu of post-secondary degree, a minimum of five years experience working with/or in engineering in a custom manufacturing environment
Demonstrated expertise in procurement, vendor management, and strategic sourcing
Broad experience overseeing the entire purchasing process, including negotiating contracts and reducing costs
Outstanding communication and influencing abilities across all levels of an organization
Strong analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and effective problem-solving abilities
Able to collaborate efficiently within multidisciplinary teams
Comprehensive understanding of technical drawings and machining cost structures
Experience operating in a Project Management Office (PMO) environment

Preferred

Capable of creating and executing material procurement plans tailored to specific projects
Proficient in Excel, Word, Tableau, and Power BI
Adept at managing substantial data sets from ERP systems and applying analytics to support decision-making
Experience with purchasing in the nuclear industry a plus
