Research Associate Supervisor- FR

The Research Associate Supervisor will oversee the technical aspects and daily activities of the Scientific Services team, including supervising staff, ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices, and managing study progress.

Responsibilities
Ensure staff maintains Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
Create, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) relating to animals, technical procedures, and facility issues
Assist with managing workload balancing across Scientific Services to ensure optimal study results
Monitor progress of studies during the In-Life phases to verify adherence to study guidelines and time lines
Determine the training required of department staff and work closely with technical process management to ensure compliance to training requirements
Attend and participate in meetings regarding study planning
Ensure the staff maintains animals and facilities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
Ensure staff adherence to study conduct as described in Protocol
Ensure documentation of study and facility data in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) regulations to include: animal assignment, anesthesia, euthanasia and necropsy records; treatment sheets and study events summaries. Ensure adherence to Protocols including proper and timely dosing, treatments, surgery schedule, necropsy schedule, etc
Compile research materials including protocols, schedules for projects, etc
Assign and oversee duties of personnel necessary to complete daily schedules
Ensure the scheduling and assignment of the required animal species for studies in consultation with the Study Scientist or Study Director
Ensure proper scheduling and planning of studies
Follow up on reports regarding clinical issues with animals, data collection or equipment problems and resolve when possible
Provide management with feedback and answers to questions and concerns regarding studies and technical needs
Ensure Scientific Services work activities are in alignment with department goals and objectives
Directly supervises several employees
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Interview, hire and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree, specializing in science and/or equivalent experience
At least 3 years working in a research environment
At least 1 year training employees
The ability to work with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Info Path, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Able to adapt easily to new software programs
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, software manuals, study documents, and procedure manuals; the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; and the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Ability to understand and utilize appropriate mathematical concepts for calculating and interpreting scientific data
Ability to work cross functionally on process improvements
Demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and maintain organization in a fast paced, changing environment. Ability to manage change. Readily adapts to new projects. Positive attitude toward work and co-workers. Be comfortable communicating with all levels of management and employees. Able to identify and resolve problems as they are encountered
