Construction Materials Testing Technician

CERTERRA is a growing national provider of testing, inspection, and certification services supporting innovation in new product development and quality assurance. The Construction Materials Testing Technician will perform testing on building sites, interpret project plans, and ensure compliance with project specifications while interacting with various client representatives.

Consulting

Responsibilities

Perform testing on general building sites and facilities
Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance with project requirements
Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge in accordance with ASTM and project specifications on site at construction projects
Perform sampling and testing of concrete in accordance with ASTM and project specifications
Prepare and submit written field reports summarizing daily activities/observations and density calculations and results
Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, and inspect rebar
Test and work in accordance with Company safety policies
Monitor work procedures for compliance with project specifications
Interact with client representative (supervisors, foremen, project managers, engineers, etc.) at project sites
Perform analysis or calculations to check accuracy, applicability and reasonableness of testing data

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work outdoors in TX weather conditions/extremes
Ability to drive a company truck, valid driver's license
Strong attention to detail and organization skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., standing and walking as needed over potentially uneven terrain
Clean driving record and capable of being insured for driving company vehicles
Able to work in variable outside conditions, including extreme heat or cold
