Responsibilities
Manage a diverse caseload with guidance from partners as appropriate
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery demands, and responses
Prepare detailed legal memoranda and case evaluations
Attend court conferences, hearings, and mediations
Conduct and defend depositions and site inspections
Collaborate with expert witnesses and clients throughout the litigation process
Assist with trial preparation and, when applicable, participate in trials
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Active membership in good standing with the New York Bar (or pending admission)
Connecticut Bar admission required only for candidates applying for the Connecticut-based insurance defense role
Strong legal research, analytical, and writing abilities
Proven experience conducting and defending depositions
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Preferred
5–10+ years of experience in one or more of the following practice areas: Construction Accident / New York Labor Law Defense, Insurance Defense (Connecticut Practice), Medical Malpractice Defense
Admission in New York is highly desirable for the Insurance Defense role
