NDT Sr Technician (Weekend Shift)

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (OTS) is a global leader in the design, engineering, and production of munitions and related systems. The NDT Sr Technician is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing nondestructive testing to evaluate materials and components, analyzing and reporting test results, and maintaining test documentation.

Manufacturing

Responsibilities

Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results
Develop specific calibrations and tests
Document results in accordance with the specification
Identifies errors and defects in equipment
Use of ultrasound, radiography, or other techniques during the testing process
Conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard
Maintain or develop procedures, policies, and techniques as necessary
Train subordinate personnel in the various NDT disciplines and techniques
Maintain documentation for training and experience hours

NDT Level II CertificationMagnetic Particle TestingUltrasonic TestingDye Penetrant TestingRadiography TestingTechnical ExpertiseManual DexterityProblem-Solving SkillsTime Management Skills

Required

Must be certified LEVEL II in at least TWO of the following methods: Magnetic Particle, Ultra Sonic, Dye Penetrant, Radiography
Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Other: NAS 410 Certification Level 2: State issued industrial radiographer certificate - Ability to achieve Level I or Level 2 certification in alignment with NAS 410 standards, through education, training, and testing, and perform the required Level 2 requirements

Preferred

Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
Discipline/Major: Science Degree in NDT or equivalent training and experience
Knowledge, skills & abilities: Technical expertise. Problem-solving skills. Time management skills. Manual dexterity
