Interagency Deputy Contract Manager (Disaster Recovery Program)

Plexos Group is seeking an experienced Interagency Deputy Contract Manager to lead and coordinate comprehensive disaster recovery efforts in New Mexico following federally declared disasters. The role involves overseeing interagency coordination efforts, managing teams, and ensuring alignment with recovery objectives across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among interagency and community technical assistance teams, local, state, and federal partners to maintain momentum on Lines of Effort (LOE)
Oversee and maintain defined tracking deliverables which identify all active milestones across the Lines of Effort, and progress to meeting those milestones. Workshop, develop, and initiate strategies in consultation with the client to advance those milestones effectively
Respond to emerging disaster recovery challenges through strategic decision-making and targeted actions, including convening new stakeholder groups, establishing task forces as needed, and developing written and operational resources to address identified recovery needs
Report to the client on a regular frequency to share the status of interagency coordination, including all defined milestones. Seek feedback and respond in a timely manner to client requests and concerns related to interagency coordination
Develop relationships with local, state, and federal agency partners, to facilitate a common understanding of recovery objectives and to maximize participation in all Lines of Effort
Manage the Lines of Effort Coordinator, providing tasking, mentorship, and oversight to their fulfillment of defined responsibilities
Lead the grant development team and supervise all grant writer staff for funding sources which fill gaps in community recovery. Oversee and/or directly complete (as needed) drafting of grant proposals, coordinating inputs, and ensuring alignment with unmet needs and recovery strategies
Manage the interagency, economic recovery, and community technical assistance teams, providing direct oversight and support to staff
Coach and mentor team members on stakeholder engagement, grant writing, compliance, and project delivery
Author briefings and summaries for leadership and external audiences

Required

Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, social services, or a related field required
Proven track record of working with internal and external stakeholders from various backgrounds to achieve goals and milestones
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to engage stakeholders, prepare clear reports, and deliver constructive feedback
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
Ability to travel occasionally for stakeholder engagement activities
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information and strict adherence to confidentiality and data security standards required

Preferred

Master's degree in a relevant field
Direct experience with disaster recovery or other like state and federal programs
