Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for procuring raw materials and supplies in support of specialty metals production, working closely with various departments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

Work with senior level personnel to expeditiously learn NOGJ’s process disciplines, unique commodity requirements, and programmatic support methodologies
Procure tooling, fixtures, metals, raw materials
Procure maintenance-related items, chemicals, supplies and services which may include program, overhead, and facilities support activities
May procure hazardous and acutely hazardous materials
Prepare solicitations
Prepare and evaluation proposals
Conduct informal negotiations, which may lead to written contracts
Issue formal Purchase Orders, Notices of Awards or Letters of Subcontracts
Monitor Supplier performance, coordinate and escalate with the requesting organization(s) as needed, and assure timely delivery of requirements to meet customer needs
Coordinate Inter- and intra-departmentally, as necessary

Required

Bachelor's degree
At least 2 years' directly related experience working within the procurement process and utilizing appropriate terminology
General understanding of contractual flow-downs, blueprint reading and manufacturing requirements
Negotiation and problem resolution skills
Good verbal & written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and effectively interface with all internal and external levels of personnel
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance
US Citizenship

Preferred

Basic understanding of Government Contracting, FAR/DFAR regulations
Proficiency with SAP software systems
