Responsibilities
Provide support to management and supervisors on issues dealing with training, health, and safety
Work directly with the Operations Manager, Plant Managers, and corporate manager safety/risk management to ensure that all activities work together to promote a safe working environment for all employees
Must ensure that corporate safety and health policies are administered in a consistent manner. The various functions involved in the execution of these policies and procedures require knowledge of federal and state laws regarding occupational health and safety
Provide support to front line supervisors and management for safety related items
Maintain compliance in all environmental items
Maintain all corporate safety and environmental systems
Stimulate change that continuously improves the effectiveness of the company safety program
Develop, coordinate, and maintain the company health and safety program and safety manual
Ensure that all incidents/ accidents are properly reported and investigated and follows up on them
Monitor compliance with Workers' Compensation Act and Regulations as well as ensuring proper and timely reporting of injuries and follow all claims to completion
Lead all HSE initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental management, or construction management or 5 years of related experience
Excellent communication skills – dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers
Must be flexible and able to balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions
Excellent leadership skills - must be able to motivate others and provide complete, direct and actionable feedback
Exhibit strong organizational skills and use resources effectively and efficiently
Possess a commitment and willingness to devote great effort and time in order to reach goals
Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete data and under tight deadlines and pressure
Proficient with Microsoft applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
