Finance Consultant
CFS is partnering with a client in Annapolis, MD to find a Finance Consultant. The role involves managing financial approval workflows, leading monthly close activities, and preparing financial statements, among other responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Review applicant financial details and manage the financial approval workflow for new resident onboarding
Lead monthly close activities and ensure accurate, timely reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements for leadership review
Develop annual budgets and support long‑term financial and tax planning strategies
Partner with department heads to build and monitor yearly expense and capital budgets
Oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations including billing, collections, general ledger entries, payroll processing, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations
Coordinate audit preparation and maintain required documentation for internal and external audits
Participate in high‑level organizational decision‑making as part of the management team
Provide financial analysis and planning support to department managers and directors
Prepare and distribute IRS 1099 forms in compliance with reporting requirements
Supervise financial transaction processing systems and ensure accuracy and efficiency
Maintain GAAP‑compliant financial records and reporting practices
Ensure compliance with all financial laws, regulations, and reporting obligations
Communicate potential financial or operational risks to appropriate oversight committees
Manage relationships with external auditors and address recommendations or findings
Monitor cash flow, cash balances, and support cash forecasting
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelors or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related required
5+ years' healthcare accounting experience required
Must have experience with MatrixCare software
Advanced level Excel skills
Supervisory experience
