CNC Mill Machinist/Programmer

Summa is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their stable and well-organized team in Houston, TX. The role involves setting up and operating a brand-new Okuma CNC machine, while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in production parts.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate an Okuma CNC machine (mill or lathe depending on background)
Run production parts with attention to accuracy, repeatability, and cycle efficiency
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T
Perform tool offsets, wear adjustments, and basic edits at the control
Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and leadership to keep production moving smoothly

Required

Hands-on experience running CNC equipment — Okuma experience is Required
Ability to read and interpret engineering prints
Strong understanding of machining practices, tooling, speeds/feeds, and quality checks
Comfort making minor program edits at the machine
Reliability, good communication, and a steady work ethic
