Journeyman Commercial Electrician - Austin TX

Enterprise Electrical is seeking a Working Journeyman Commercial Electrician to join their team in Austin, TX. The role involves working under the guidance of experienced electricians to develop skills in electrical installation and maintenance, while adhering to industry best practices and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Work on and around high voltage energized equipment
Install various types of Electrical Conduit systems according to NEC
Setup and maintain temporary power systems
Install and maintain grounding systems for all equipment and structures
Test electrical components for continuity and proper voltage readings according to specifications
Cut, bend, and run conduit as specified on blueprints
Install junction boxes, panels, switches, plugs and fixtures
Terminate wires and cables to electrical equipment, such as, but not limited to, breakers, control panels, and distribution systems
Communicate and work under the direct Supervisor/Foreman (Licensed Journeyman and/or Master Electrician)
Work well under pressure particularly when faced with unexpected events, delays, tight timelines, or urgent demands
Ability to work well with others – team player
Knowledgeable about building a service
Must be reliable, accountable, and consistent in performing assigned tasks
Must be willing and able to follow all instructed safety regulations
Detail oriented, results driven individual
Knowledgeable with all electrical equipment and hand tools
Must be able to handle a physical workload
Must have own tools and reliable transportation
Ambition to want to grow within the company
Must have good organizational skills and ability to handle administrative functions
Must know CenterPoint Standards
Physical Stamina: Be able to work long hours, often standing, bending, or kneeling for extended periods
Strength and Dexterity: Jobs often involve lifting heavy equipment and materials (50lb+), so good upper body strength is important. Manual dexterity is also crucial for handling tools and wiring
Flexibility: Be able to work in various positions and environments, including tight spaces, high places, and sometimes in awkward positions
Good Vision: Have excellent vision, including color vision, is necessary to identify different wires and components
Coordination: Have good hand-eye coordination for precise work with electrical components and tools
Balance: Be able to work on ladders, scaffolding, or in elevated positions requires good balance to ensure safety

Experience: Minimum of 1-5 years documented field work in the commercial industry, or completion of 1-2 years of electrical apprenticeship program
Experience: Able to manage up to 5 men
Size of Projects: $50k - $10MM
Travel: Willing to travel as needed
Punctual, motivated and detail oriented
Superior communication and interpersonal: Possess strong interpersonal skills to work in a diverse and fast-paced environment
