Sales Manager
AVALON is a growing aerospace organization that emphasizes culture, continuous improvement, and talent development. The Sales Manager plays a critical role in driving customer engagement and market share, blending strategic thinking and collaboration with various teams to support long-term growth initiatives.
Responsibilities
Own weekly, monthly, and quarterly bookings targets by customer and market segment, ensuring commitments are met or exceeded
Identify and pursue new business opportunities by understanding customer challenges, supply chain dynamics, and long term market trends
Actively monitor industry indicators such as aircraft build rates, aftermarket demand, and overhaul data to maximize market capture
Serve as a primary relationship owner for key customers, operating with autonomy and accountability
Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Program Management, and Leadership to align customer needs with company capabilities
Step in where needed to support urgent or high priority bids, helping the team secure critical wins
Utilize ERP driven data to guide territory planning, opportunity prioritization, and growth forecasting
Maintain a deep understanding of company capabilities, processes, and future investments, especially in automation, to effectively communicate value to customers
Provide insight into opportunities with long term growth potential, helping align cross functional teams around strategic priorities
Assist with contract negotiations in partnership with the Business Unit Manager
Exercise independent judgment and discretion in managing customer relationships and business decisions
Qualification
Required
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Advanced Excel and data analysis capabilities
Highly analytical, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
Experience developing or supporting aftermarket growth strategies
Proven success balancing OEM and distribution channel business
Strong business judgment and comfort navigating complex situations
Ability to perform under pressure in a deadline driven environment
Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence across functions
Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally more than 50 percent
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Business or Engineering
5 to 7 years of experience in business management
5 to 7 years of sales and marketing experience within the aerospace industry
Preferred
MBA a plus but not required
