Responsibilities
Prepare and conduct technical procedures (blood collection, IV administration, injections, anesthesia, dosing)
Handle, restrain, and provide clinical care to animals (primates 2-5kg, beagles)
Accurately document and collect study data in compliance with SOPs and GLP standards
Operate laboratory equipment (glucometer, pumps, thermometers)
Monitor and report changes in animal health, behavior, or housing conditions
Maintain veterinary instruments, study ancillaries, and facility organization
Participate in large and small molecule toxicology studies (50-100 studies running concurrently)
Support study directors and supervisors with sample and data collection
Cross-train across departments and engage in continuous learning
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in science preferred
Preclinical technical skills: blood collection, IV administration, injections
Animal research experience (internship, academic lab, or CRO) strongly preferred
Experience from companies such as Covance, NPI, or Charles River is a plus
Willingness to work overtime and adapt to shifting schedules

Veterinary assistant experience
Clinical procedures (injections, IV administration, surgery support, necropsy, or euthanasia exposure)
