Sun-Maid Growers of California is seeking a Line Controller to process quality fruit for the packaging department. The role involves ensuring production efficiency and quality by checking fruit quality, preparing reports, and communicating with the packaging team.

Responsibilities

Checks quality of fruit on an ongoing basis

Prepare daily downtime reports and make daily inspection of line

Make sure line is running efficiently and in a productive manner

Make changeovers to different fruit sizes and specifications

Change elbiscan files to insure proper settings are made to obtain fruit quality specifications

Determine quality of fruit, moisture content, stems, caps, mold, etc. And make necessary adjustments to ensure proper quality

Communicate with yard to maintain steady feed

Clean reblows shaker when necessary to avoid stem problems

Apply proper amounts of oil as per specification

Help stem pickers at times to maintain quality

Report mechanical problems to immediate supervisor

Keep work area clean and organized at all times

Other duties as assigned

Required

Must know different varieties of fruit

Must be able to distinguish between different fruit quality characteristics

Ability to lift and stack 30 lb pans & push 120 lb. Bins

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English

Preferred

Knowledge of fruit

Machine operator experience

Knowledge of electrical panels and belt systems in processing
