Local Autonomy & Controls Engineer II – New Glenn
Blue Origin is a company focused on developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles for the benefit of Earth. They are seeking a Local Autonomy Application Engineer to support the development and operations of the New Glenn launch vehicle, focusing on safety-critical controls software and collaborating on various testing activities.

Responsibilities
Support the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle
Collaborate closely with flight hardware and participate in various tests at Processor-In-the-Loop (PIL), Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL), and subsystem levels
Support integrated launch vehicle test campaigns, developing and verifying subsystem requirements, and engaging in plant model validation activities
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace, or related field)
Experience in aerospace, controls-related, or hardware test roles
Experience with Hardware-In-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and testing
Experience with AI-assisted software development cycles
Highly organized with excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Advanced graduate degree in engineering or related control systems field
Experience with Simulink model-based design software
Experience with real-time operating systems
Experience with Linux operating system
Hands-on usage of AI coding assistants such as Roo, Klein, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar to accelerate embedded/controls development, code reviews, and test creation
Familiarity with DOORS Next Generation (DNG) or similar requirements management systems; Atlassian JIRA or similar issue tracking systems; Apache Subversion or GitLab or similar revision control systems
