Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design process for complex web applications, from initial user research and concept development through final implementation and post-launch optimization
Develop and maintain comprehensive design strategies that align with business objectives, corporate branding and user needs
Champion design thinking methodologies across the organization and establish design best practices and standards
Conduct and oversee user research initiatives including interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics analysis to inform design decisions
Create detailed user personas, journey maps, and experience flows that capture complex user interactions and edge cases
Design information architecture and navigation systems that scale effectively across multiple web applications and user types
Develop high-fidelity mockups, prototypes, and interactive designs using industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD
Create and maintain comprehensive design systems that ensure consistency across all digital touchpoints while allowing for flexibility and growth
Design responsive interfaces that work seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile web experiences
Mentor and guide junior designers, providing feedback on their work and supporting their professional development
Collaborate closely with product managers to translate business requirements into intuitive user experiences
Work hand-in-hand with engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and maintain design integrity throughout the development process
Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders and executive leadership
Establish and refine design workflows that integrate smoothly with agile development processes
Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure deliverables meet established standards
Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices, incorporating relevant innovations into the team's approach
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, with 7+ years of professional UX/UI design experience focused on web applications
Minimum 3 years in a senior or lead design role with demonstrated experience managing design projects and mentoring team members
Expert proficiency in design tools including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools like InVision or Principle
Experience with design systems and component libraries, including knowledge of tools like Storybook or similar platforms
Demonstrated expertise in user research methodologies, usability testing, and data-driven design decisions
Strong visual design skills with excellent typography, color theory, and layout composition abilities
Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and inclusive design principles
Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and managing complex design projects from conception to launch
Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience building and scaling design teams in fast-paced, iterative environments
Preferred
Previous experience in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or other regulated industries where user experience directly impacts business outcomes
Experience with user analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or similar platforms
Background in conducting workshops and design sprints to facilitate collaborative problem-solving sessions
