Project Manager - Buffalo Valley
SSR Mining Inc. is an intermediate gold company with five producing assets located in the USA, Turkey, Canada, and Argentina. The Project Manager – Buffalo Valley is responsible for leading major capital projects, including feasibility studies, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
Leading study team comprising SSR and consultant resources to complete a bankable feasibility study supporting a request for full funding
Working with stakeholders to develop contracting and execution strategy for the execution phase of the project
Manage the detail design phase of the project to complete designs to IFC and begin procurement of long-lead items
Manage the execution phase of the project to handover to operations
Ensuring the project is executed to agreed budget, schedule and business expectations
Lead the development and maintenance of study and execution plans in compliance with SSRs standards, identify resource requirements, and coordinate input by various departments and external consultants as required
Maintain a consistently high-quality deliverable, in the form of study periodic reporting and study documents
Ensure SSR standard documents and processes are implemented and continuously used
Ensure alignment of study estimates and execution plans with expected commercial and contracting models
Comply with project development processes for project initiation, capital expenditure approvals, invoicing, and close-out
Ensure all SSR financial approval processes are followed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or Project Management or demonstrated industry experience
Minimum 6 years' experience in two or more of the following areas: design, project development, project delivery, site operations/support (in mining and/or mineral processing)
Project construction and commissioning field experience; previous work in Nevada will be a major advantage
Experience with management and delivery of schedules, progress reports, budgets, and formulation of study reports
Experience with JORC, NI-43-101 & SK-1300 reporting requirements will be a major advantage
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and engage collaboratively with stakeholders
Lead the development of study reports and presentations on financial evaluations, risks, and opportunities
High level of written and verbal communication skills
Experience within the resources sector, preferably in precious and base metals
