Responsibilities

P2 – At this grade level, the individual will be expected to work autonomously with limited supervision, have theoretical to advanced knowledge of the control mechanism development domain, and influence colleagues
The PCAS organization provides ample opportunities for hands-on hardware work. PCAS mechanical engineers are exposed to a variety of lab activities including engineering builds, hardware integration, hardware tuning, and hardware verification
The PCAS organization provides a strong technical learning environment with a dedicated control system technology pyramid comprised of engineering fellows. PCAS mechanical engineers are provided the opportunity for direct access to these subject matter experts, fostering accelerated technical growth

Required

Education: B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Math or related science degree
A minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Preferred

Knowledge of mechanical or electrical design, engineering, and analysis
Knowledge of manufacturing methods and processes, including machining, casting, forging, welding, and bonding
Knowledge of mechanical drawing practices, dimensioning, and tolerancing
Experience with Systems or Mechanical Engineering of servo controls
Experience with CAS requirements, CAS architecture
Experience collaborating with multi-disciplinary and cross functional teams
Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
Ability to deconstruct higher level tasks into discrete lower-level work packages and tasks
Proficient in Engineering processes and procedures
Experience with Pro/Engineer/CREO 3D modeling and mechanical drawing generation
Experience using Matlab, Simulink, and dSpace
