Mercy Hospital Southeast is seeking a Lab Support Technician I to join their provider care team. This role is responsible for providing laboratory support, ensuring accurate and timely processing of laboratory specimens while delivering excellent customer service in line with Mercy's standards.

Responsibilities

Providing accurate, timely and effective provision of laboratory support
Exhibiting excellent customer service skills in line with the Mercy Signature Service with all internal and external customer interactions
Skillful acquisition of laboratory specimens for testing, utilizing safe, accurate, effective, professional methodologies while observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies
Responsible for all processing, transport and referral of all types of laboratory specimens and reports as required
Completing all departmental checklists for the LST I position

Qualification

Laboratory specimen acquisitionCustomer service skillsHIPAA complianceHigh school diplomaClinical laboratory experience

Required

High school diploma, G.E.D, or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum
Successful completion of probationary period
No active disciplinary actions or active performance improvement plans

Preferred

College level Chemistry, Biology or other Science courses
Previous experience in a clinical laboratory
