Application Analyst

Responsibilities
Maintain operational support for core business applications with a focus on data accuracy and system reliability
Use SQL extensively to analyze datasets, validate outputs, and trace data discrepancies across platforms
Examine SSIS packages to understand data transformations, investigate failures, and support root cause analysis
Track application behavior and batch processing results to identify performance or data quality issues
Work closely with business partners to respond to data-related questions and clarify system outputs
Support controlled application changes, releases, and upgrades following formal governance processes
Coordinate with database, infrastructure, and development teams to resolve cross-system issues
Analyze historical trends to help improve application stability, performance, and scalability
Document data flows, dependencies, and operational support procedures
Engage with third-party vendors when application or data issues require external involvement
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Strong SQL skills, including complex querying for analysis and troubleshooting
Experience reviewing, navigating, or supporting SSIS packages and ETL data pipelines
Understanding of enterprise application support and production operations
Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders
Preferred
Background supporting finance or banking operations — candidates with this experience will be given top consideration
Experience working with financial data, transactional systems, or regulated environments
Familiarity with batch processing, data reconciliation, and audit-driven processes
Exposure to vendor-supported enterprise platforms
