VAST Data is a rapidly growing infrastructure company focused on AI and data management. They are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to act as a trusted technical advisor to federal customers, guiding them through the architecture design and deployment of VAST’s data platform.

Responsibilities

Support business development across DOE accounts, including national labs and affiliated research institutions

Work closely with Federal sales teams and channel partners to sell the VAST Data platform

Align technical sales activity with federal procurement and buying cycles

Manage customer relationships from initial engagement through (optional) proof of concept and post-sale expansion

Develop and deliver technical proposals and architectures aligned to DOE mission workloads

Prospect, penetrate, and support large, complex federal accounts

Required

5+ years of experience supporting the sale of enterprise storage or data platforms in large IT environments

Experience working with Federal customers, preferably DOE or national laboratory environments

Understanding of HPC, AI/ML, and large-scale unstructured data workloads

Experience delivering technical architecture and product presentations

Knowledge of virtualization, high-performance networking, and enterprise security

Ability to perform in an unstructured environment

Strong verbal and written communication skills
