The role involves utilizing tools to ensure pallets are service-ready and maintaining a clean working environment while achieving production quotas.

Responsibilities
Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager
Examine products after repairing to verify conformance to quality standards
Must maintain a clean & safe working environment that meets 48forty’s standards
Build the given number of pallets, once training is complete
Repair the given number of pallets, once training is complete
Expected to be able to work without constant supervision to achieve production quotas in the repair area, safely
Stack pallets or materials in the correct manner, following inventory control instructions
Check loads to make sure they are secure
Qualification
Required
High school degree or GED required
Utilize appropriate tools and methods to return damaged pallets to service-ready condition
Communicate effectively with Production Supervisors, Assistant Plant Manager, and Plant Manager

Requires quick hands, attention to detail, commitment to quality
Observance of all safety rules and regulations
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardized requirements exist
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Demonstrated experience safely operating air-driven, electric, pneumatic, and manual woodworking tools
Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate
Repetitively lift up to 75 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for entire shifts of varying lengths in time
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and color vision
Must have a good sense of balance & good eye-hand-foot coordination
Preferred
Completion of a craft apprenticeship preferred
Previous experience in welding, lumbering, construction, carpentry, or roofing is strongly preferred
