Responsibilities

Oversee, maintain, and continuously enhance automated control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, for food processing equipment
Implement upgrades and modifications to existing systems to improve performance, accuracy, and reliability
Analyze production data and process workflows to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and quality enhancements
Develop, test, and implement new control strategies using statistical process control (SPC) techniques and lean manufacturing principles
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to design process improvements and optimize system performance
Diagnose and resolve technical issues with control system hardware and software to minimize production downtime
Establish preventive maintenance protocols, perform regular system calibrations, and manage system validations
Coordinate with equipment vendors and technical support teams to resolve complex issues
Ensure that all control systems comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards, including HACCP, FDA, and ISO requirements
Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system schematics, operating manuals, and maintenance procedures
Participate in safety audits and risk assessments, contributing to a culture of continuous safety improvement
Work closely with operations, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to support troubleshooting and process enhancement initiatives
Provide technical training and support to staff on updated control systems and safety protocols
Act as a key resource during the design, commissioning, and integration of new production technologies

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
Proven experience in process control engineering within a manufacturing or food processing environment
Proficiency in PLC programming and hands-on experience with SCADA and HMI systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulatory requirements (HACCP, FDA, ISO)

Preferred

Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
