Sales Manager- Assurance

Responsibilities

Identify, qualify, and prospect new customers with high growth potential across TIC and consulting service portfolios, using proactive outreach methods (cold calling, networking, referrals, industry events, targeted campaigns) across supply chain auditing / risk mitigation, ESG, EHS and Business Excellence advisory and assurance domains
Drive new business development and expand market share by positioning TÜV Rheinland as a trusted advisor in supply-chain compliance, ESG, EHS, risk mitigation, and Business Excellence assurance and advisory services
Own and manage the end-to-end sales lifecycle, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, proposal development, pricing, negotiation, and deal closure
Develop and execute sales strategies, annual sales plans, and sales targets, aligned with local, regional and global commercial objectives
Build and maintain strong relationships with customer decision makers and influencers, engaging credibly at senior and executive levels
Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and value propositions that translate customer needs into tailored TÜV Rheinland solutions
Collaborate closely with internal Sales, Operations, Technical, Key Accounts, and Marketing teams to ensure commercially viable, technically feasible, and compliant solutions
Identify and drive cross selling and upselling opportunities across TÜV Rheinland’s multi-disciplinary service portfolio
Initiate and support the development of new services and market-driven solutions, contributing to business cases, pricing models, and investment decisions where required
Lead or support commercial negotiations, including framework agreements and service contracts, in accordance with internal governance, accreditation, and compliance requirements
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer, opportunity, and pipeline data in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce); leverage CRM analytics for forecasting, performance tracking, and reporting
Monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitor activities to identify emerging opportunities and inform sales strategies
Represent TÜV Rheinland at industry events, trade shows, client meetings, and internal forums, strengthening market visibility and brand positioning
Ensure all sales activities comply with internal procedures, accreditation rules, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards

Required

University degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline; or
University degree in a relevant technical, engineering, or professional field aligned with TIC or advisory services; or
An equivalent combination of formal education and relevant professional sales experience
5–10 years of progressive experience in Sales, Business Development, or Commercial Management, preferably within the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) or consulting services sectors
Proven track record in new business acquisition (“hunter” role), pipeline development, and consistent achievement of sales targets
Experience selling complex, solution-based B2B services, ideally in supply-chain auditing, ESG, EHS, risk mitigation, and Business Excellence advisory or assurance
Demonstrated experience in complex contract negotiation and closing medium to large deal sizes
Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage
Proficient in MS Office and CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.com
Self-motivated, result-oriented, and able to operate effectively in fast-paced, matrixed environments
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of working time, including domestic and occasional international travel, to support customer engagement, business development activities, and internal coordination
A valid driver's license is required, with the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely for business-related travel
Must be legally authorized to work in the applicable country of employment
Ability to perform job-related activities that may include prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting of light materials (e.g., laptops, presentation materials). Must be able to travel independently and manage work-related activities while on the move
Ability to effectively use standard business technologies, including laptops, mobile devices, CRM systems, virtual meeting platforms, and productivity software
Must comply with all applicable health, safety, and security policies, including those related to travel, client sites, and workplace environments
Adherence to company policies on confidentiality, data protection, business ethics, and conflict of interest, in line with industry and regulatory standards

Preferred

Strong understanding of relevant standards, accreditation frameworks, and regulatory environments applicable to TIC services (knowledge preferred, not mandatory)
