Responsibilities

Partner with the President & CEO to develop the annual organizational budget, manage cash flow, and provide ongoing fiscal guidance to ensure operational efficiency
Take a hands-on approach in overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and medical billing
Monitor short-term and long-term fiscal health, delivering accurate cash-flow forecasting and identifying opportunities to maximize income and financial efficiency
Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities
Develop, document, and implement financial policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax laws and grant requirements
Prepare and present timely financial reports to the CEO and Board, offering actionable insights and recommendations
Manage and support annual audits, ensuring efficient processes and timely resolution of findings
Negotiate and oversee agency insurance policies, including Liability, Workers’ Compensation, and Property & Casualty coverage
Partner with the Director of Human Resources to ensure employee benefits plans are competitive and properly funded
Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, grant funders, and vendors
Oversee leases, contracts, and financial commitments to ensure alignment with budgetary and organizational goals
Stay current on financial trends, laws, and best practices, updating fiscal policies as needed
Perform additional duties as required to support organizational success

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Proven experience in nonprofit or mission-driven financial leadership
Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, audits, and compliance
Hands-on experience with accounting operations, payroll, and cash-flow management
Ability to present financial data clearly to executive leadership and Boards

Preferred

Experience working with grant funding and medical billing
Background in nonprofit healthcare or social services organizations
Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
Policy development and regulatory compliance
Vendor and stakeholder relationship management
Strategic planning and financial modeling
