Responsibilities

Build and run finite element models to evaluate mechanical, thermal, and thermo-mechanical performance
Import CAD geometries, generate high-quality meshes, and define appropriate boundary and initial conditions
Perform simulations including drop, vibration, assembly stress, and global–local modeling
Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and sensitivity analyses on assemblies and components
Interpret results through detailed post-processing and create clear technical reports
Propose design or process improvements based on analysis outcomes
Collaborate closely with reliability engineers and cross-functional teams

Required

Stress Analysis (3+ years) – Perform detailed stress, shock, drop, and vibration analyses to evaluate mechanical reliability and failure risks
FEA Software (Abaqus or Ansys, 3+ years) – Build, mesh, run, and post-process complex linear and non-linear FEA models, including thermal and thermo-mechanical simulations
CAD Software (CREO or SolidWorks, 2+ years) – Import and work directly with design geometry, prepare models for analysis, and collaborate with design teams on modifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on, industry-based FEA experience
Strong understanding of mechanics of materials, stress analysis, and failure theories
Experience with material models, element types, and constitutive modeling
Exposure to experimental property characterization for polymers and metals
Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team

Preferred

A proven track record of independently setting up and executing complex FEA studies in a professional environment
Strong judgment in selecting modeling approaches, boundary conditions, and material assumptions
Ability to translate simulation results into actionable design recommendations
Consistent delivery of high-quality analysis results within defined timelines
