Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of agile software development, including design, implementation, and deployment
Architect and provide guidance on building end-to-end systems optimized for speed and scale
Work primarily in Ruby, Java/JRuby, React, and JavaScript
Engage with inspiring designers and front-end engineers, and collaborate with leading back-end engineers to create reliable APIs
Collaborate across time zones via Slack, GitHub comments, documents, and frequent videoconferences

Required

At least one year of experience in building large-scale software applications
Experience in building web applications
Experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs
Knowledge of Ruby, Java/JRuby, React, and JavaScript
Excellent debugging and optimization skills
Experience in unit/integration testing
Knowledge in troubleshooting and administration tasks on Linux systems is a plus
Technical skills to troubleshoot unknown problems with minimal supervision
Excellent customer service and verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple, simultaneous assignments and tasks throughout the day
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or engineering
Interest in learning new tools, languages, workflows, and philosophies
Professional certification
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Computer, phone skills
Ability to read, write and speak English effectively
Ability to work within a 24/7 operation including holidays
Ability to pass 7-year background check and pre-employment drug screen per airline regulations and/or company policy
At least 18 years of age
Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986
Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position in a normal office environment
Must be able to communicate through verbal, written and electronic means
Must be able to access filing cabinets, drawers, and shelves of varying height
Must be able to move up to 25 pounds on an infrequent basis
