Economic Development - Recruitment and Retention Manager
The City of Pearland, TX is seeking to hire a full-time Economic Development Recruitment and Retention Manager to lead and improve aspects of the day-to-day operations of their recruitment and retention initiatives. This role focuses on attracting new jobs and investments in Pearland by building relationships with commercial real estate personnel and collaborating with various business development programs.

Responsibilities
Assists in the implementation of the corporation's strategic priorities and program of work
Ensures that recruitment/relocation prospects are efficiently and effectively supported and managed and recorded in the PEDC Salesforce platform
Builds recruitment networks through attendance at high-value industry meetings and conferences
Engages in negotiations on business partnerships or development agreements for commercial and industrial businesses development in the City, which may include tax abatement options, or similar business development incentives
Identifies, pursues, and successfully attracts quality development opportunities that result in job creation and capital investment; serves as a point of contact for new and existing companies seeking approvals from the City
Collaborates with the Workforce Development Director to provide service delivery to optimize workforce development programs as a local input
Assists in the implementation of the corporation's marketing plan
Qualifies, prioritizes and maintains regular contract with attraction and retention prospects; utilizes PEDC Salesforce platform for tracking of all leads and prospects
Designs, writes, and prepares prospective business proposals in response to requests for information and requests for proposals including information on various local and state incentive programs, training assistance programs and financial packaging, and the impact on corporate financial statements
Designs and organizes prospect recruitment visits and presentations; provides prospects with technical assistance on labor, utility, real estate, incentives, financing, transportation, quality of life and other related business needs to meet prospect requirements; prepares and presents comparative advantages; designs and implements detailed community and site tours; organizes private industry interviews
Attends and enters follow-up from the Pearland Chamber of Commerce BizConnect Program
Attends professional development training and stays current on new economic development trends, ideas, and practices
Develops, maintains, and fosters positive, collaborative relationships with other community resources involved in business and economic development
Conducts overnight travel as necessary to meet with business prospects, participate in marketing events and meetings
Performs related work as assigned
Qualification
Required
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in business, economics or closely related field
Requires five years economic development or closely related experience
Preferred
Prefer Certified Economic Developer
