Responsibilities

Patient Registration & Intake: Accurately interview patients and families to collect demographic, financial, and medical information; perform bedside, inpatient, emergency, and telephone registration while meeting established time standards and patient identification policies
Insurance & Revenue Cycle Support: Verify insurance coverage, eligibility, and benefits; complete required Medicare and payer documentation; collect patient-pay balances; resolve registration errors; and ensure correct insurance loading and compliance with payer requirements
Switchboard & Communications: Serve as hospital switchboard operator by professionally answering and routing calls, maintaining call schedules, paging providers, monitoring alarms, and providing directions and assistance to patients and visitors
Customer Service & Safety: Deliver excellent customer service by welcoming patients, managing waiting areas, communicating wait times, maintaining confidentiality, addressing concerns, and identifying and reporting safety hazards or incidents
Professional Development & Team Support: Participate in training, meetings, and performance improvement initiatives; assist with onboarding new staff; and contribute to departmental and organizational quality goals

Required

Preferred

High School Diploma or GED
Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field
At least 1-3 years of customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience
1-2 years of previous experience in hospital related field
Medical Terminology
EHR Programs (e.g. Epic)
ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes and coding processes
Hospital billing processes and reimbursement
