Outside Sales Associate
Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases. They are seeking an Outside Sales Associate to develop rentals and sales of welding equipment in the assigned region by following sales leads, making presentations, and maintaining customer relationships.

Responsibilities
Develop rentals and sales of welding equipment, power generation and weld automation in the assigned region by following sales leads, making presentations, preparing quotations, maintaining all required literature and providing customer follow-ups
Assess customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions
Maintain a safe working environment by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines
Develop and increase the end user customer base by effective communication, assessment of needs and recommendations of solutions
Perform onsite equipment demonstrations
Make application recommendations of welding and positioning equipment
Develop long-term supply relationships through contracts and/or agreements
Work as part of a team in providing customer solutions
Meet or exceed rental and sales goals specified in the market area
Represent the company at trade association meetings and Trade Shows to promote products
Compile lists of prospective customers for sales leads based on information from newspapers, business directories, trade journals and/or other sources
Maintain accurate and timely submission of sales call reports and expenses
Provide customer follow-up
Provide back-up coverage at the branch location during vacations and other employee shortages
Travel within designated territory up to 25-50% of the time, including some overnight travel
Perform Other Related Duties As Required
Qualification
Required
Must have a valid Driver's License
Requires high-quality presentation and negotiating skills
Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time, work well at developing relationships, and self-motivated
Must be able to communicate effectively
Must be able to proactively and methodically deal with conflicting goals and challenging situations
Must be able to work independently while making decisions based on company policies and objectives
Attention to detail and solid organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and work independently with little supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures
Ability to act proactively or find a solution with work-related problems
Ability to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds
Must have excellent technical knowledge as well as strong interpersonal skills

Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers
Ability to develop and execute market/business plans
Proven ability to develop new accounts and new business opportunities
Ability to set goals and motivate self and others to achieve annual sales objectives
Adaptable to set and prioritize work with varying exceptions
Strong knowledge and experience with MS Office
Communicates with clarity, verbally in one on one or group situations, and over the telephone
Communicates well in writing by composing clear documents
Post secondary education equivalent to a Diploma in Business Management or equivalent
Working knowledge of positioning equipment, welding applications and equipment as an asset
Sales experience in either an industrial equipment rental or a welding equipment sales or rental environment (ideally construction, fabrication, and/or manufacturing sectors) an asset
