Responsibilities
Answer phones and take messages professionally
Greet patients, clients, family members, caregivers, and visitors warmly
Assist with the completion of paperwork, including intake forms, medical history, medications, and insurance
Perform clerical tasks such as copying, scanning, and filing
Support front-office processes and appointment reminders
Follow directions from supervising therapists during patient mobility, transfers, ambulation, and therapeutic interventions
Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and facility rules
Maintain a service-oriented approach with all interactions
Assist with equipment maintenance and inventory monitoring
Perform housekeeping tasks to keep the department clean
Help reduce costs and improve productivity
Foster positive relationships with the healthcare team, patients, and caregivers
Adhere to safety, risk, and emergency procedures
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 16 years old and maintain regular attendance
Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence
Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one settings
Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions
Experience with data entry and accurate typing
Ability to relate positively and professionally with others
Flexibility and willingness to adapt for efficient operations
Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Includes sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 70 pounds with or without assistance
Requires fine hand coordination, hearing, reading, writing, and stress management
Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision
Moderate noise levels
Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, especially in hospital and nursing home settings
Must be tolerant of patients recovering from surgeries, illnesses, and wounds
