Responsibilities
Train, lead and coordinate the activities of quality inspectors, technicians, and auditors to ensure product conformity at all stages of production
Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans aligned with engineering drawings, specifications, and contract requirements
Review first article inspections (FAI) per AS9102 and customer-specific requirements
Ensure calibration and maintenance of all inspection equipment and measurement tools are met
Maintain documentation for nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions (CARs), and preventive actions (PARs)
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
Conduct in-process and final inspections of components, assemblies, and finished goods as needed to support company goals
Support internal and external audits (customer, ISO/AS, and government)
Train and mentor QC staff on inspection methods, standards interpretation, and safety protocols across all plants
Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and recommend process improvements working with the IPT’s across the plants
Ensure compliance with ITAR, DFARS, and other applicable government and defense regulations
Bring a positive attitude to the team by creating a positive work environment for the inspection team
Have the ability to backfill the inspectors when they are off work or the need for additional support arises
Qualification
Required
Ability to obtain approval through BATF to handle explosives
High level of inspection equipment knowledge
Can read and interpret drawings and specifications
Ability to perform inspections to support FAI inspections
Can multitask and lead team members to support company objectives
Ability to train and expand team members' knowledge
Can work with cross functional teams to support DR processing
Working knowledge of tools for quality control
Knowledge of GD&T
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
Ability to work in fast-paced environments
Leadership or teamwork abilities
Excellent attention to detail
