Safety Engineer Intern

Responsibilities
Incident/Accident Reporting when an incident occurs on the job site
Incident Review meetings after an Incident Occurs
Job Hazard Analysis Audits
Safety Orientation, Confined Space Training, Trench and Excavation Training, and Fall Protection Training for New Hire Craft workers
Safety Walks with Project Manager, Engineer, Superintendent to talk about safety issues on the job site and getting them fixed
Scanning Safety Documents
Conducting Toolbox Talks
Reporting any stolen equipment or machinery to the police department or CHP
Inspecting the jobsite
Conducting Drug Test for new employees
Creating and enforcing policies with OSHA regulations and ISO 45001 Standards
Ensuring crafts workers are wearing the proper PPE needed
Communicating with project managers and superintendents of issues occurring on the project
Qualification
Required
Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year institution pursuing a degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field
Preferred
Previous internship experience in heavy civil construction preferred
