Removal Defense Immigration Attorney

Responsibilities
Represent clients in removal proceedings before EOIR, including master calendar and individual hearings
Prepare and file motions, applications for relief, and legal briefs (including cancellation of removal, asylum, withholding, CAT, and waivers)
Handle appeals to the BIA and, if qualified, to federal courts
Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients facing deportation and complex legal challenges
Manage filings and appearances with USCIS, EOIR, ICE, and the BIA
Collaborate with intake, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to develop strategies and ensure timely filings
Qualification
Required
Minimum 3–4 years of experience practicing immigration law, with substantial courtroom experience
Demonstrated success handling master and individual hearings, particularly in asylum, cancellation of removal, and waivers
Strong legal writing skills and the ability to think on your feet in high-stakes situations
Knowledge of family-based immigration matters such as I-130s, adjustment of status, and consular processing
Licensed to practice law in any U.S. state; New York Bar preferred
Preferred
BIA and federal court experience a plus
