Research Intern – Health Equity (Per Diem/Onsite)

Responsibilities
Conduct policy reviews, assist in policy implementation planning, and support data collection through observational studies, key informant interviews, and public surveys
Participate in local LGBTQ+ events and advocacy day activities within Los Angeles County and at the state capital
Receive training in study and survey design, health education and outreach writing, community event planning, resource development, community organizing, and presentation and communication skills
Begin on-site community activities, increase community involvement, networking with internal and external community partners, and attend community events and city council meetings
Develop and practice public health education and outreach skills, and actively participate in community events and outreach
Qualification
Required
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have a High School Diploma or GED
Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or surrounding cities while conducting all activities related to the intern or visitor appointment
Preferred
Current undergraduate or graduate student in Public Health, Health Policy, Community Health, or related field
Strong interest in LGBTQ+ health, community engagement, and policy advocacy
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively and engage with diverse populations
