Cultural Resources Intern - Architectural History
Bolton & Menk, Inc. is a leading company in providing community infrastructure solutions, and they are seeking a Cultural Resources Intern specializing in Architectural History for their 2026 summer internship season. The intern will assist architectural historians with field documentation, research, and other architectural history tasks while gaining valuable experience in the field.
Consulting
Responsibilities
Assists architectural historians in surveys and other architectural history investigations as directed
Conducts research (state/local historical societies, archives, etc.)
Responsible for producing clear and concise notes and documentation on work conducted
Travel will be necessitated by project workload; out-of-town stays may be necessitated for extended periods
Qualification
Required
Selected candidates will be enrolled in an Architectural History program or related field such as History, Historic Preservation, or Public History from a four-year or two-year college or university
Minimum Cumulative GPA: 2.8 GPA; Desired GPA 3.2 or above
Current Status: Sophomore or above with knowledge of architectural history, styles, and historical research
Students must have the ability to read and interpret USGS topographic maps and aerial photos
Good interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
Must understand and comply with company safety manual
Students must possess a valid driver's license and their own transportation or have ability to use public transportation
Preferred
Preference may be given to students who have completed a previous internship with Bolton & Menk
