Responsibilities

Build and update tax forecasts (individual + business) using client financials, projections, and tax assumptions
Organize and summarize financial data: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, K-1s, W-2s, 1099s, depreciation schedules, etc
Draft clear internal summaries: “Here’s what changed, here’s what it means, here are the next actions”
Handle various client requests/ tasks as they're delegated to you
Manage client correspondence and information requests with a “close-the-loop” operating style
Maintain clean trackers for deliverables, missing items, deadlines, and follow-ups
Help ensure the firm hits deadlines with “absolute precision” by keeping workflows tight and proactive
Support implementation of planning strategies (taught on the job) such as entity optimization, credits, and timing-based planning
Document steps, requirements, and status so strategies don’t die in execution
Monitor progress and flag issues early (“no surprises” culture)
You’ll work inside a modern workflow stack, including: UltraTax CS (tax preparation), Maus (exit planning), Fathom (forecasting / performance analysis), Corvee (tax planning aid/ proposal tool), Monday.com (CRM + project workflow), Calendly (scheduling), Excel / Microsoft Office (required)
You run organized client workflows: intake → request list → follow-ups → workpapers → status updates
You begin to understand the requirements and flow of information needed to service clients
You write clean, professional emails and keep trackers accurate without constant reminders
You produce reliable drafts of updated tax forecast inputs and summaries for founder review
You have at-least a basic understanding of the software leveraged in the firm
You can explain the “why” behind numbers and identify missing information quickly
You own meaningful portions of delivery (requests, tracking, documentation, forecast updates)
You proactively flag risks/opportunities and keep multiple client projects moving at once

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or closely related field
Strong fundamentals in accounting and finance (you understand how financial statements connect)
Basic understanding of individual and business tax concepts (we will teach advanced strategy)
Strong Excel skills (filters, pivots, lookups, clean formatting)
Ability to manage multiple deadlines with structure and professionalism
Reliable remote work setup (internet, workstation, quiet environment)

Preferred

0–3 years in public accounting, tax, audit, or relevant finance role
CPA candidate (in progress) or intent to pursue CPA
Familiarity with UltraTax CS, Monday.com, or forecasting tools (helpful, not required)
