Accountant 1 (Local Government) - Wayne County Area Agency on Aging
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a dedicated individual for the Accountant 1 position at Wayne County Human Services. This role involves handling various accounting activities, including processing deposits, reconciling accounts, and assisting with audits to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities
Responsible for accounting activities that support our Combined Human Services fiscal team, specifically for cross program analysis and Area Agency on Aging (AAA) program
Processing incoming deposits
Reconciling revenue subsidiary schedules with general ledger accounts
Preparing adjustment vouchers to correct or close accounts maintained
Assisting in the revenue recognition and general ledger reconciliation for all Human Services programs
Assisting with audit schedules
Completing revenue research and analysis
Preparing management, budget to actual analysis, and other reports for review
Utilizes generally accepted accounting principles and procedures and applies them to transactions and situations as they occur
Providing assistance and guidance to fiscal officers on procedures, policies, and regulations to ensure agency records remain in compliance
Qualification
Required
One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a four year college or university, including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting
You must meet the PA residency requirement
You must be able to perform essential job functions
You must pass a background investigation
A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening
This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law
Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
