Responsibilities
Deliver the curriculum established by the Henrico County School Board and administration
Plan daily instructional activities that demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and use state and district approved curriculum
Use current school and division data to plan instruction
Develop formative and summative assessments, using multiple tools to assess student learning on an ongoing basis, and to differentiate instruction
Maintain order within the classroom and school with proactive classroom management and a well-organized learning environment
Maintain records of student performance and attendance, and communicate this effectively with students and their parents
Select and use a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students
Coordinate instruction with other staff (special education, gifted, remediation staff, volunteers, etc.) relative to student learning
Stay abreast of current educational trends and best practices as these relate to classroom instruction and effective schools
Maintain professional manner when interacting with students, parents, patrons, community agencies and colleagues
Incorporate and model appropriate use of Technology to support instruction and student learning
Perform other duties as assigned by school administration
Qualification
Required
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and a valid teaching license in the subject listed above
