Mergers and Acquisitions Consultant
Calculated Hire is seeking a seasoned M&A Integration Consultant to provide end-to-end support for a potential acquisition, from due diligence through post-close integration planning and execution. The ideal candidate will act as a key liaison between buyer-side functional teams, sellers, and third-party stakeholders, ensuring readiness for Day 1 and long-term success of the integration.
Responsibilities
Maintain and manage the Due Diligence Request List (DRL) across all functional teams
Track submission statuses, dependencies, risks, blockers, and delivery timeliness
Facilitate weekly working sessions with stakeholders to address outstanding items and escalate issues
Prepare dashboards, issue logs, completeness trackers, and weekly status reports
Establish the governance structure, meeting cadence, escalation path, and integration playbooks
Coordinate cross-functional integration activities and maintain RAID logs
Drive reporting and provide updates to executive sponsors and steering committees
Facilitate discovery sessions to capture current-state org, processes, decision rights, and systems
Assist in the design of Day 1 operating models and support development of future-state blueprints
Draft RACI matrices, org design scenarios, and a high-level technology roadmap
Assess key integration considerations across IT, HR, Operations, Commercial, and Regulatory functions
Coordinate diligence intake and outputs, identify long-lead integration items such as migrations and licensing
Deliver a comprehensive integration implications assessment and readiness report
Lead functional and cross-functional workshops to define Day 1, 30-day, 100-day, and End-State plans
Develop detailed integration project plans, milestones, KPIs, and risk mitigation strategies
Build and maintain a comprehensive Integrated Master Plan
Review and redline Transition Services Agreements (TSAs) and Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
Evaluate service levels, pricing benchmarks, and help structure governance and performance KPIs
Establish clean-room protocols and tools to ensure compliance with antitrust regulations
Conduct anonymized analysis for synergy planning while maintaining strict confidentiality
Maintain governance logs and document access management procedures
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years of experience in M&A due diligence, post-merger integration, or strategic consulting
Proven ability to manage large-scale integrations across functional and geographic boundaries
Familiarity with integration management offices (IMO), program governance, and synergy tracking
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including at the executive level
Preferred
Experience with TSA/MSA structuring, benchmarking, and governance setup
Hands-on involvement in operating model design and organizational transition planning
Expertise in managing clean-room environments for antitrust or data security purposes
Ability to lead development of 100-day plans and long-term integration strategies
