Responsibilities
Provides leadership in assisting internal and external customers with resolving concerns
Researches and communicates discrepancies found with junior staff or external customers for timely resolution
Also, provides training to junior staff relative to General Ledger coding and policies
Monitors the accuracy of the subsidiary ledgers to ensure balances are accurately reflected in the General Ledger
Works with Budget team to analyze data and identify reclassifying journal entries needed in the General Ledger and coordinates necessary corrections in the subsidiary ledger with junior staff
Strengthens departmental effectiveness through cross-training, documentation of procedures and assistance in coordination of audit responses
Provides support for the daily operations of the department and works closely with the team, providing guidance in the absence of the Supervisor
Mentors entry level team members
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma
3 years accounts payable experience
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience
Preferred
Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Advanced Proficient data base user interface and query software (i.e., Microsoft Access, SQL, Yardi)
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
