Director - Commercial Operations - ERP Management and Administration
The Avery Point Group, Inc is a privately held company operating in a high-mix, order-driven environment. They are seeking a Director of Commercial Operations to oversee the administrative and operational execution pipeline, ensuring accurate ERP-based order management and alignment between sales, digital ordering, and financial outcomes.
Responsibilities
Oversee all order entry processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across sales, website, and other order intake sources
Own administrative interaction with the ERP system, including product and item setup logic, pricing structures, lead times, execution routing, and order rules
Ensure orders originating from sales teams and the company website are structured properly to support manufacturing, fulfillment, invoicing, and margin visibility
Establish and maintain standardized workflows, documentation, and approval processes governing how orders are configured and handed off internally
Reduce errors, rework, billing delays, and downstream disruptions caused by upstream system or configuration inaccuracies
Oversee purchasing activities to support execution schedules and service commitments driven by both sales-entered and website-generated orders
Ensure purchasing aligns with ERP data, execution requirements, inventory logic, and financial expectations
Strengthen coordination between internal teams to support on-time, accurate fulfillment regardless of order source
Own the operational strategy and execution for customer-facing web ordering platforms, ensuring they function as reliable, scalable sales channels
Ensure all digital ordering platforms are execution-ready and tightly aligned with internal fulfillment and production processes
Oversee product and item setup, ordering logic, approval rules, and order flow for web-based ordering to ensure accuracy and consistency
Partner with leadership and internal teams to oversee the operational aspects of the company’s primary website, including ordering functionality and system integration
Ensure all web-originated orders flow cleanly into order entry, purchasing, execution, and financial systems
Drive continuous improvement in digital ordering performance, customer experience, scalability, and internal efficiency
Own master data accuracy and workflow configuration within the ERP system
Ensure system data supports accurate inventory movement, cost capture, invoicing, and revenue timing
Partner with Finance to ensure operational execution aligns with financial outcomes
Serve as a system super user and establish best practices, controls, and training
Act as the central operational partner to Sales, Manufacturing, Fulfillment, Finance, and internal teams supporting digital ordering
Translate sales and website initiatives into executable system workflows
Identify execution bottlenecks and lead practical, cross-functional solutions
Support leadership initiatives related to growth, system transitions, website scalability, and operational maturity
Qualification
Required
8–15 years of progressive operations or commercial operations experience in order-driven environments
2–3+ years in a people leadership role
Proven experience overseeing order entry, product and item setup, purchasing, and internal execution workflows
Hands-on ownership of ERP-driven order management and master data accuracy, including orders originating from web-based platforms
Experience overseeing customer-facing digital ordering or webstore platforms as operational sales channels, not marketing tools
Demonstrated ability to align digital order intake with manufacturing, fulfillment, and financial execution
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship
Strong understanding of order-driven operational and administrative workflows across sales-entered and website-generated orders
ERP experience with emphasis on order configuration, execution routing, website integration, and financial alignment
Experience ensuring customer-facing website ordering functionality is operationally sound and tightly integrated with internal execution systems
Proven ability to improve execution reliability, margin visibility, billing accuracy, and revenue timing in multi-channel order environments
Comfortable using standard business tools, operational reporting, and system data to manage performance and identify gaps
Process-driven, detail-oriented, and highly organized, with discipline applied consistently to both internal workflows and website-driven execution
Comfortable owning administrative and website-related execution discipline without becoming bureaucratic or slowing the business
Strong communicator who aligns teams through clarity and accountability, particularly when coordinating between sales, website inputs, and internal operations
Practical problem-solver in fast-moving, imperfect environments where upstream website or system issues can create downstream impact
Trusted operational partner to senior leadership, capable of balancing growth in digital ordering channels with execution control
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
