Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as skid steers, loaders, excavators to assist with loading and moving materials (e.g., sand, gravel, aggregate)
Assist in maintaining equipment by performing routine checks, cleaning, lubricating, and ensuring machinery is in good working condition
Perform general labor tasks as needed, including digging, lifting, loading, unloading, and clearing debris from work areas
Monitor and ensure safe material handling, following proper procedures for loading, unloading, and transporting materials around the quarry
Assist with site preparation for construction projects by grading, leveling, and clearing the land for various operations
Follow safety guidelines and work closely with other team members to ensure compliance with safety regulations, including MSHA standards
Perform basic maintenance on equipment and report any issues or malfunctions to the maintenance team or supervisor
Help with daily setup and teardown of equipment, ensuring tools and machinery are in place for the next shift
Assist in the maintenance of worksite cleanliness, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience operating heavy equipment, including but not limited to skid steers, loaders, excavators, and backhoes
Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and performing routine maintenance on equipment
Ability to work in harsh outdoor conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and varying weather
Strong safety awareness and adherence to MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) and OSHA regulations
Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen as required for the role
Good physical condition to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials, as well as stand, bend, and work in physically demanding environments
Basic understanding of quarry operations and material handling processes (loading, unloading, and transporting aggregates)
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, taking direction from supervisors and collaborating with coworkers
Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors
