Head of Wealth Management & Private Banking Communications - U.S.

This role serves as the senior strategic communications advisor, responsible for positioning HSBC as a leading wealth manager and private bank, delivering integrated communications strategies, and enhancing the firm’s reputation with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Build, protect, and enhance HSBC’s reputation as a trusted global wealth manager and private bank
Translate wealth and private banking strategy, performance, and transformation into compelling narratives for clients, employees, and external stakeholders
Develop and amplify thought leadership across financial, wealth, lifestyle, and industry trade media
Establish strong relationships with tier-one financial, business, lifestyle, and wealth management trade publications
Ensure consistent messaging across print, broadcast, digital, and social channels
Identify cross-border storytelling opportunities highlighting global wealth corridors and international clients
Lead issues and crisis communications for the wealth and private banking businesses
Use employee insights and engagement data to shape internal communications that support alignment, retention, and culture
Support business and cultural transformation aligned with HSBC’s values and leadership principles
Serve as the primary communications lead for U.S. Wealth Management and Private Banking
Advise senior executives and relationship managers on executive visibility and communications strategy
Monitor, measure, and evaluate media, digital, and social coverage
Proactively identify reputational opportunities and risks and coordinate mitigation strategies
Partner with Global Communications to localize global wealth campaigns for the U.S. market
Act as a senior leader within the U.S. Communications function
Coach and develop communications talent and support succession planning
Work seamlessly within HSBC’s global communications matrix
Partner closely with Marketing, Public Affairs, Investor Relations, HR, Legal, Risk, and Compliance
Collaborate with Internal Communications to deliver engaging employee communications
Build strong, trusted relationships with senior wealth and private banking stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Employment eligibility to work with HSBC in the U.S. is required
Significant senior-level communications experience within wealth management, private banking, asset management, or related financial services
Demonstrated success in proactive earned media, thought leadership, and executive positioning
Strong experience with tier-one international, financial, lifestyle, and wealth trade media
Deep understanding of reputational risk, regulatory sensitivity, and issues management
Proven ability to advise and influence senior executives
Experience leveraging digital, content, and social media platforms in a compliant environment
Strong knowledge of global wealth trends and high-net-worth client needs
Ability to navigate complex, matrixed global organizations with judgment and discretion
